On February 25, 2016, the Town Board reviewed responses to written comments submitted and adopted the Master Plan Update with 3 revisions recommended by the Planning Board. The adopted version is available online (along with the comments on the draft).
We are now starting discussion of updates to the development regulations. On February 8th, the consultant presented their assessment of our current regulations to a joint meeting of the Planning Board, Zoning Board, and Codes Department. They recommend that the Town adopt a single set of regulations (called Unified Development Ordinance) and suggest five areas of improvement to the current regulations:
1. Create a more user friendly code.
2. Establish new zoning districts (per the adopted Master Plan)
3. Modertize the list of land uses
4. Improve the development standards
5. Enhance the review and approval procedures
