MARCY Town-wide Garage Sales are held in the Spring & Fall residents of the Town of Marcy, including the Hamlet of Stittville.
The Town Clerk organizes this event:
Receives sign up requests (listing your garage sale location and a brief description of items for sale on sign-up form) to Town Clerk's office by the Monday prior to the weekend of the sales;
Compiles / types location listing / map;
Announce and publish/advertise event: newspapers, the town's newsletter 'Marcy Matters', on the town's website: http://townofmarcy.org, Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TownofMarcy, & any media that will announce as well.
Yard signs are placed around town notifying of the sales taking place the week of the sales.
The list of garage sale locations is prepared and printed by the Town Clerk (sale locations, days, hours, & a brief description of items for sale) and available on Thursday prior to the weekend of the sales.
The location listing and town maps are distributed at the Town Hall, at local gas stations, and any establishment wishing to distribute. The location listing is now also available on the town website due to huge demand and number of paper copies being printed.
