On November 17, 2016 the Marcy Town Board approved adoption of the new Unified Development Code to replace the current zoning and subdivision regulations effective Jan 1, 2017. We want to thank everyone who provided input and comments during the development and review of this code!
An official copy will be posted on the "Laws & Ordinances" page of this website when available.
We will continue to evaluate how we can improve our development regulations and welcome continuing comments to the Planning Board at our meetings, by email, or thru this website.
In June of 2015, consultants met with town officials, local developers, and other interested people to ask about concerns with the current town regulations. Between June 2015 and February 2016 we worked to update the town Master Plan and the consultants reviewed the current town zoning and subdivision standards. On February 8, 2016 they presented a summary of their findings and recommended next steps to a joint meeting of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. (copy of this presentation below)
Between Marcy and September, members of the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Codes Enforcement office met several times to review draft regulations (in two parts). On September 12, 2016 the Planning Board voted to recommend the town consider the proposed new Unified Development Code (UDC) to replace our current zoning and subdivision regulations. The Town Board accepted the UDC for consideration on September 22, 2016, with a hearing scheduled for the consultants to present a summary of the regulations, answer questions, and obtain hear public comments at 7:00 pm on October 6, 2016.
The Planning Board will answer additional questions and take comments at the regular Planning Board meeting at 7:00 pm on October 17.
You can also submit comments using the form below, or send written comments to the Town Clerk at 8801 Paul Becker Road, Marcy NY 13403 until 7:00 pm on October 27, 2016.
